Object description

The drawing shows the design of the stone church of the Cathedral of Saint Archangel Michael in the village of Pidhirtsi. The picture depicts a longitudinal section, according to which the construction was carried out. It is a single nave building with a transept, a semicircular apse, and two sacristies. A dome (octagonal on a quadrangle) rises above the crossing, and ridge turrets are on each of the four sides of the roof. The church is decorated in the Art Deco style, and the author followed Baroque models in the shape of the dome. The project was completed between 1932 and 1939 (Lev Kh., Slobodian V., Filevych N. 100 Churches of the Nahirnyi family. Part Two: Churches of Yevhen Nahirnyi. Lviv, 2015. P. 48).
