Object description
The type of composition, size, and characteristic clean right corner suggest that the photograph was intended to be pasted into documents with a seal (e.g., an identity card). The photo depicts a full-face portrait of Antonina Ivanova (according to the Ukrainian-language caption "A. M. Ivanova" under the photo) against the background of a font composition (possibly of an ideological and propaganda nature). The peculiarities of the skin condition and facial wrinkles indicate that the photo is probably from the postwar period, no later than the late 1940s (the age of the person depicted is approximately 55–60 years). Since the archive of Antonina Ivanova contains a photograph of the artist dated 1946 with the same font background, this image was likely made at approximately the same time, especially given the identity of the hairstyle and make-up in both cases.
