On the back of the photograph is an inscription in russian written in blue ballpoint pen: "Ivanova A.M. Woman with corn. 1919 Kyiv". In Ivanova's archive, which is kept at the Gallery, there is another version of the photograph of this work in colour. However, it has a different title – "Kolhospnytsia" (Collective Farm Woman) and no date. The photograph shows a painting, the specificity of which can be felt in the artist's works of both earlier and later periods, in particular in the pictures of "Girls in the Cornfield" (the Gallery has a painting on silk Рз-433 and preparatory sketches for this work). In this work, as in the colour version of this print, we can see the influence of the monumental art of ancient Egypt and Orthodox iconographic practices.
