The partly Ukrainian, partly russian simple pencil inscription under the photo reads: "Ivanova A. M. Priaha (Spinner). 1918. Kyiv. Tatarka. Studio of M. Boichuk". The original of this work by the artist is in the collection of the National Art Museum of Ukraine and is entitled "Prialia" (Spinner) (mid-1920s, canvas, tempera). Given the differences in title and dating, it is advisable to conduct additional research on the original to establish the reliability of the information and to make appropriate corrections either in the information accompanying the photograph from Antonina Ivanova's archive or in the attribution of the painting. In addition, concerning the original work, it should be noted that this work has similar compositions by Oksana Pavlenko (Sketches of "Spinner", 1921, Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine) and Volodymyr Favorskyi (woodcut depicting a woman spinning, 1921), as well as a very similar detail of Antonina Ivanova's painting in the dining room of the engineer Lukin, known from a photograph from the artist's archive, which is kept in the Gallery's collection.
