Object description
On the back of the photograph is an inscription in russian, written in blue ink: "A. Ivanova. Panel "We are for peace" Moscow 1955". The photograph shows a sketch of a silk painting by Antonina Ivanova (one of the versions of the original silk painting is in the Gallery's collection). The work reflects the idea of peace and friendship between different peoples. In the stylistic approaches and composition, there is a noticeable manifestation not only of the style of Mykhailo Boichuk's circle (the artist created consonant horizontal figural friezes in her Kyiv period, in particular, the graphic works "Dancers", 1918 and "Silhouettes of the Bourgeoisie", 1912 (?)) but also of the graphic works of Heorhii Narbut, the practices of folk artists from different regions, particularly in the approach to decorative solutions. This allows us to assert that this drawing is the final one (versions of the original are dated 1957).
