Object description
The photograph shows an exhibition by Antonina Ivanova in Moscow (the russian-language inscription on the back reads: "Antonina Ivanova. My personal exhibition in Moscow. Opened on 18 March, the anniversary of Lenin's birth in 1970"). Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine in OC-1 (Personnel Files-1) has kept Antonina Ivanova's application to the Bureau of the Decorative Section of the Moscow Artists' Union with an autobiographical note requesting the organisation of a personal exhibition on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of her creative activity, as well as an invitation and poster to this event dated 18 March 1970. The photograph shows several of the artist's works currently in the Gallery, including the 1930 tempera "Laundresses" (on the wall next to the left window) and the 1963 silk painting "Girls in the Cornfields".
