Object description
A cross-section from the project of the Church of St. Nicholas, completed in 1933. It is a single-domed basilica with three semicircular apses and a prominent transept. From the outside, it is restrained in style, with only the main facade completed by curved Art Deco piers, the shape of which recalls Baroque influences. The low columns inside, also in Art Deco style, support the semicircular arches. A hemispherical dome rises above the crossing. The building was constructed in the 1930s but fell into disrepair in the 1940s (Lev Kh., Slobodian V., Filevych N. 100 Churches of the Nahirnyi family. Part Two: Churches of Yevhen Nahirnyi. Lviv, 2015. P. 127).
