Object description
The drawing shows the design of the stone church of the Cathedral of Saint Archangel Michael in the village of Pidhirtsi. The picture depicts the main entrance facade, after which the building was constructed. It is a single nave building with a transept, a semicircular apse, and two sacristies. A dome (octagonal on a quadrangle) rises above the crossing, and ridge turrets are on each of the four sides of the roof. The church is decorated in the Art Deco style. Baroque models inspired the shape of the dome. The project was realised between 1932 and 1939 (Lev Kh., Slobodian V., Filevych N. 100 Churches of the Nahirnyi family. Part Two: Churches of Yevhen Nahirnyi. Lviv, 2015. P. 48).
