Object description
The drawing shows a plan of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Stradch. The church was built in 1795 as a single nave brick building with a small semicircular apse. It was damaged during the First World War. In 1925, Yevhen Nahirnyi created a project to reconstruct and extend the church. Two side chapels, sacristies, choirs and staircases were added, the chancel was enlarged, and a stone belfry was built nearby. The exterior of the building retained its original restrained appearance, but the additions were decorated in the Art Deco style. The project was executed between 1925 and 1927. The church has been preserved until today (2024) (Lev Kh., Slobodian V., Filevych N. 100 Churches of the Nahirnyi family. Part Two: Churches of Yevhen Nahirnyi. Lviv, 2015. P. 128).
